Forgotten Faces Book Review by Gail

I know what you’re thinking, “Wow, she hasn’t done anything about FNaF in a while,” and it’s going to stay that way for a while. But let’s dive into today’s target…

Have you ever recalled a memory that you know has happened but when you talk to someone else who was there, they don’t remember it ever occurring? Then you try to explain how it has to have happened because of [insert point a] and [insert point b] but they still can’t recall that moment? But what if you had a best friend one day and the next no one remembered they even existed?

Memorial is a Webtoon about a high school boy, Minhui, who forgets the face, name, and just about everything about his crush except that she was just talking and walking with him at school yesterday. In fact, when he looks for her name in the teacher’s class roster, she’s nowhere to be found. When he brings it up to his friends, they don’t remember her at all and say he must’ve had an imaginary friend. Minhui knows this just can’t be possible, especially since two nights in row, he’s had terrifying dream with this same girl in it.

But wait! There’s background information that might just be important. In this Webtoon a deadly airborne toxin was released years ago and anyone who inhaled it started choking and foaming at the mouth. Many died and the world was in shambles until the Memorial Corporation fixed the world’s problem. They injected what they call “Memorial Chips” (or chips for short) into the backs of everyone’s necks. And, in case anything goes wrong with the chips, there are Animal Bots to led a helping hand! Animal Bots are giant machines that roam around the world. They are there to repair broken or malfunctioning chips, and they’re the symbol of just about everything!

But… Something feels off about the Bots and the corporation. There’s no way that so many other people have experienced a loved one being “imaginary” and it’s just a malfunctioning chip…

So far, I really like this Webtoon! The art is very well drawn and the plot is amazing! However, I will say that this is a horror Webtoon so the art is a just a tad bit spooky at times. BUT I would suggest this Webtoon to anyone who’s looking for something new, fun, scary, and puzzling! This story will leave you on your toes at the end of every episode and leave you anxious to find out the truth. The Webtoon is “Memorial” so go check it out now!
