Beep! Beep! Beep! Boo! FNaF: 1:35 A.M. -- Review by Gail

As you know, Out of Stock is now over. But with the ending
of a story, a new beginning emerges.
The story 1:35 A.M. follows a young
woman named Delilah, who was “orphaned at a young age and recently divorced”. Delilah
works at a dinner with shifts that move all over the place. One day she’ll be
working six to two, another two to ten, and another ten to six. Therefore, her
sleep schedule is non-existent. But wait! It gets better. Her neighbor is an
old lady, Mary, who sings at the top of her wrinkly lungs every day early in the morning.
The story actually starts off with her singing loudly about her alarm clock.
If you can’t tell, this absolutely irritates Delilah, who just happens to hate
alarm clocks and old ladies named Mary who sing at the top of their lungs before the sun
comes up.
Delilah,
not waking up late for work once, goes on a morning run to destress. After her
run, she heads to the grocery store and on her way back to her apartment
building, she sees a sign for a garage sale. Seeing this, she decides to make
one extra stop. In a bin, she finds a two foot doll which, by chance, looks
like her unborn baby. Delilah can’t bring herself to leave it, especially with the
fact that it’s only remaining and working feature is an alarm clock.
The story
goes along from here with her being late for work after falling asleep upon
returning to her apartment. Then after her shift, she goes to sleep and wakes
up at 1:35am. From here not much happens.
So far, I
like this story, even though it has been going at a mildly annoyingly slow
pace. I think what’s keeping me reading this story is the expectation of what’s
going to happen later on and not necessarily the reading itself. Me personally,
I wouldn’t read this story if it wasn’t FNaF because of the slow pace, but if
you’re someone who doesn’t mind waiting, I would totally recommend this book to
you!
Gail, after watching the FNaF movie with you, I can confirm that this does not relate to any of the movie lore. Or the little amount that I know about the game lore either. I assume that doll is going to be creepy, come to life, and do some mauling. Either way, my interest is piqued!
ReplyDeleteAh, if only Ella did some mauling. But alas, she did not. And though I wish that she did more, I'm not sure what I would've liked her to do...
